EEQS was founded by highly skilled, experienced and innovative Mercedes Benz South Africa employee Sinethemba Sakuba. Mr Sakuba has been a Daimler permanent employee for 13 years. Holding many key roles in the QM Division: (currently Field Quality Campaign Specialist) Part Quality Engineer EE Technician Being a “product” of MBLA Sinethemba has a strong Daimler culture embedded in him.

With a great passion for new opportunities. Sinethemba Sakuba is the Founder and Majority shareholder in the company. The company was founded with the ambition of venturing into the automotive industry as a young ambitious entrepreneur. Encouraged by the opportunity MBSA presented under the ESD (Enterprise Supplier Development) program, and drive to transform the supply chain. EEQS seeks to minimize the challenges experienced by OEM due to the fast-moving Electrical and electronics world.

OEM are needing to find innovative ways of ensuring product maturity, and ensuring the customers always has the most up to date SW/HW in their vehicles. With the extensive Daimler product knowledge and understanding of Daimler expected quality standards EEQS meets the requirements “well above the rest”

Sinethemba Sakuba

Chief Executive Officer and Commercial Director

Sinethemba Sakuba is the Chief Executive Officer and Commercial Director EEQS.

He is responsible to develop high-quality business strategies and plans, ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term company objectives. Leading and motivating EEQS team to advance employee engagement develop a high performing managerial team, overseeing all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall company strategy, mission and values.

Mr Sakuba is a son of East London (Eastern Cape South Africa) having matriculated at Port Rex Technical High school in 2007. Mr Sakuba was enrolled into Mercedes Benz Learning academy (Formally MB Training Center) intake of 2008. Mr Sakuba went on to complete his trade in Auto Electrical at the academy in 2013 having done numerous specialized skill training in Vehicle electrical and electronics.

With 13 years industry experience he has held various positions of varying expertise in product maturity, Quality Management and supplier quality Management. In 2014 Mr Sakuba held his first role at MBSA as Electrical and Electronics Technician in QM. In 2016 he  was promoted to the role of Engineering Technologist Part Quality with part responsibility (EE + Chassis & Powertrain) in this role he had the responsibility of ensuring part quality from suppliers in his commodity meet Daimler standards. In 2018 Mr Sakuba was appointed in the role of Field Quality Campaign Specialist. The role entailed ensuring all identified aftermarket field measures and quality topics are corrected before delivery to the customer including global vehicle distribution management.

Phakamisa Elvis Sakuba (Retired Professional)

Mentor

Mr Elvis Sakuba in his mentorship role will share his knowledge, experience, and wisdom and act as a guide and role model to the EEQS Management team. He will support the mentees (Management team) by empowering them to resolve current issues and to develop coping strategies for the future. Appropriate boundaries. Acknowledging their strengths, talents and gifts and encouraging them to find ways to use them.

Mr Elvis Sakuba brings a wealth of rich industry experience with over 35 years experience in the Automotive battery manufacturing industry. Mr Sakuba is a retired plant manager at First National Battery in East London, having led the Fort Jackson plant from 2011 to when he retired in 2016.

He held various positions of increasing responsibility as a Quality Control Supervisor in 1981, and then Production Co-ordinator in 1990. He became Production Manager of the battery manufacturing plant in West Bank supplying car batteries to the key OEMs in South Africa and internationally in 2000.  Having completed his junior management training and completing his MBA in 2004 and gaining further experience in senior management he was appointed Plant Manager of the Fort Jackson Plastic Molding plant in 2011. Mr Sakuba went to hold this position until his retirement in 2016 having these key responsibilities :

  • Control budget for the plant.
  • Formulate, communicate, implement and control plant strategies
  • Control all the operations in the plant.
  • Formulate plant targets and objectives.
  • Manage and enforce company policies.

Mr Sakuba holds a Masters In Business Administration from The Business School Netherlands International which he attained in 2004. he holds many management and leadership certificates which he has attained in his illustrious career through various local and international institutions.

Vusumuzi Ndhlovu

Operational Excellence Director

Mr Vusumuzi Ndlhovu is responsible for driving efficiencies, eliminating redundancies and capitalizing on synergies across EEQS businesses in the areas of Quality, Production Purchasing, Capacity Planning, Logistics, Facilities, Manufacturing Operating Systems and Continuous Improvement.

Mr Ndlhovu has more than 25 years of industry experience having held numerous positions at Mercedes Benz South Africa. Mr Ndlhovu joined Mercedes-Benz South Africa in July 2000, as an Artisan (Auto-electrician). In 2004 he was appointed as a production team manager responsible for the production line of the rear and front suspension of W203 C Class built in East London till 2006. In 2007 he joined the Quality Management department as an Engineering Technologist Part Quality responsible for supplier part quality in the Powertrain commodity.

In 2014 he was appointed in the role of Supplier Quality Engineer Prevention and VDA 6.3. it is in this role Mr Ndhlovu Acquired his VDA 6.3 process Audit qualification.

Mr Ndhlovu earned a Bachelor`s degree in General Management at the Walter Sisulu University of Science and Technology. He is a lean manufacturing specialist having acquired this skill at Daimler AG in Sindelfingen Germany. Mr Ndlhovu is a qualified 6 Sigma Green Belt problem-solving specialist acquired (BMGI)

Thembisa Gafini

Production Manager

Ms. Thembisa Gafini is responsible for providing inspired leadership for the battery inspection & charging operation, which involves making important strategic decisions, as well as the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures, and help promote a company culture that encourages morale and performance.
